CLÉ DE PEAU BEAUTÉ'S LANDMARK SCIENCE

CELEBRATED IN A THREE-DAY EVENT.

In June 2023, Clé de Peau Beauté immersed guests in the science of Skin Intelligence – our breakthrough skincare science approach that skin has the innate ability to distinguish between positive and negative stimuli, to achieve and maintain its ideal condition.

Held in Tokyo and the Shiseido Global Innovation Center in Yokohama, the event played host to guests from over 18 countries and regions, including Global Brand Ambassadors Diana Silvers and Ella Balinska.

At the Global Innovation Center, guests enjoyed an interactive lab tour, where they were invited to learn and experience the science of Skin Intelligence.

Mr. Kiyoshi Sato, Clé de Peau Beauté Chief Technology Officer and Dr. Shinobu Nakanishi, Research Scientist at Clé de Peau Beauté Laboratory present the first visualization of the skin gene network, showcasing skin as a ‘thinking organ’ that operates independently from the brain

Since the brand’s launch in 1982, Clé de Peau Beauté has been committed to pursuing a deeper understanding of Skin Intelligence. The event marked the global reveal of the skin gene network – visualized by our laboratories for the very first time.

This achievement has significantly enhanced our understanding of skin as the body’s largest thinking organ, and our role in partnership with it. Exploring new ways, through our skincare science, to empower its most profound catalyst for reaching optimal radiance: its innate ability to self-care.

A major highlight of the event was the unveiling of a remarkable work created by renowned media artist, Refik Anadol. Incorporating data from our scale-free mathematical model of the skin gene network, Mr. Anadol brought his trailblazing approach to data narratives to envision the invisible world of Skin Intelligence. The remarkable installation, titled UNSEEN INTELLIGENCE, was displayed to the public in the Tokyo Midtown in Tokyo’s Roppongi district to amaze, educate and inspire.
